We spent our first day back here washing clothes, washing ourselves (I reckon half of El Questro swirled down the plughole when we showered), washing our cars (ditto the plughole thing) and getting organised. I got a matching new tyre for Fred (it cost me $110 less to get exactly the same tyre as the one I got out there...... thank goodness). Uncle John and Mum and Dad had a bit of an explore yesterday while I took Danni to the Dr as she has been a bit under the weather. I took her to the local aboriginal health service on the advice of the "lady at the caravan park". You don't have to be aboriginal to go there - but if they are super busy - they will look after the aboriginal people first. What a fantastic health service this is - we only had to wait about half an hour and the nurse and dr were just wonderful. We even walked out with Danni's medications in hand - and all we had to do was sign the medicare form. A great service, staffed by wonderful people.
Unfortunately Danni had to go back this morning for 3 blood tests - she was very brave and didn't even faint (though she tried very hard).

This afternoon Danni and I went off exploring on our own. We went out to the Ivanhoe Crossing - a huge crossing of the Ord River. Mum and Dad and Uncle John went out for a look yesterday and saw a silly woman trying to walk across with her dog. When she realised she wouldn't get across, she turned around to come back but the dog got swept over the edge. It was lucky to make it to the bank safely, especially given the huge saltwater crocodiles evident there. We didn't see any crocs today - and decided against trying to drive across - I'm not that brave!
Danni did dip a toe in for a photo - but was ready to run if she saw anything remotely resembling a croc!

After this we went to a place called "the Salad Bowl" for lunch. We munched through a wonderful quiche made with boab roots in it (very yummy) and a fresh fruit mango smoothy. Then we headed out to have a look at the Zebra Rock Gallery. Zebra rock is a gorgeous striped rock and this is the only place in the world where it is found. It is quite expensive when it has been polished - but Danni and I got some raw pieces and are working on polishing them ourselves.
We came back tonight to start the pack ready to leave tomorrow. I did get a quick photo of the sun setting on the rocks behind the caravan park - a pretty good indication of just how amazing this place is. Tomorrow we head off towards Timber Creek.

And on a final note... Lachlan now that you have your final results - congratulations on coming first in every single class. I am so proud of you and what you have achieved. We will celebrate when you come to Darwin!
